Sitting Behind The Camera

It’s been a while since I have posted anything so I thought “hey, why not do it while I’m at a cultural event?”

Yeah, I’m crazy like that I suppose.

For those of you who may not know about it, I’m at a Durga Puja, a religious celebration in the name of Goddess Durga who is kind of like “The Mother” amongst Hindu gods.

Well, I’m here to film my mum and my sister’s performances. It’s a brilliant way to finally document these events in a semi-professional manner, and boy am I glad to have invested in a DSLR and equipment. It’s also definitely the best way to learn the craft of amateur filmmaking – from filming to editing.

Like most endeavours it’s kind of always been an interest of mine to get into taking some sweet photos and making some nice short films.

Oh and it’ll definitely come in handy for our site!

There’s no doubt that video and audio is how sites are making their name out there. I mean, don’t get me wrong written prose is still an excellent way to deliver stories but there’s something about the way that other mediums can portray so much more information without the need for lengthy exposition.

Anyway, I should really get back to filming. I might post another update tonight. Maybe. 🙂
